Draft video feedback

Adam, Tarun, Jack, Dino (Matt) - Level 2

All the band need to deadpan the performance (see Adams face). Maybe to drum on first beat. Costume is appropriate, room works, most shots well framed.
Dino always look straight ahead!
Take care to keep order in line up.
We EXPECT level 4!
Singer has to be dead on, really on it and focused.
- black and white works really well
- styling is impeccable
- don't bother with the walk (not essential to the success of the video)

Tarun's Digipak Research

Image1: Before we started designing our digipaks I thought that the famous Japanese painting of the Waves would look good for an album cover. However as I put this idea forward to Mr.Ford he told me that I either had to use my own picture or draw one, so the idea of using the Waves painting was out the  door.

Image 2: I then started looking at landscapes as an idea to use for the album cover.

Image 3-4: I thought maybe a landscape with a sunset would make a good front cover for the album cover.

Image 5-6: As I was searching for more landscapes I came across these images and I liked the idea of viewing the world from a Lego mans prospective. I found a lot more pictures like this and really liked this idea as I have not seen it before on an album cover.

Image 7: This is my first draft, I used a font that was already on Photoshop as I didn't have time to find one.

Image 8: After receiving my draft feedback I started looking for appropriate fonts that would fit the genre of music I have chosen.

Images 9-11: These are some landmarks within Leicester and I wanted to take pictures of these landmarks with my lego man in the picture.

Images 12-13: These are my pictures when I went into Leicester and took pictures of my Lego man.

Image 14: These are the colours that I used on the album cover. I chose these colours as I wanted a very  simple album cover.

Image 15: This is another Draft of my final album cover.

Image 16: This is my final album cover.

Colour ideas

I only want to use one colour on my digipak and magazine advert as I want to let the picture do the talking and not to focus on the colour of the font too much. I mainly want a bold colour so that people are able to see it. Here are some ideas:

My Pictures

I went to the city centre of Leicester to take my picture for the Digipak and magazine advert. Here are some:

Location ideas for photos

Now that I have decided to use a Lego man for my pictures, I need an interesting locations so that I can take some photos that will look good and fit nicely with my digipak and magazine advert. I am thinking of using Leicester as the location for my photos as it has interesting architectural structures that I can place the Lego man in front of.

Fonts that I like the look of

After doing some research on fonts used on an album cover of my music genre, I have found these two that I like the look of and are considering using them in my final piece.

I feel that this famous Japanese painting would look good as the front cover for my Digipak, this picture  looks very simplistic.

Lyrics to our song

You're up and you'll get down
You never running from this town

Kinda think you said
You'll never get anything better than this

'Cause you're going round in circles
And everyone knows you're trouble

Cause you read it in a big book
And now you giving me the look look
But just remember how we shook shook
And all the things we took took

This town's the oldest friend of mine

Get up and we get down
We're always running round this town

And to think I said
We'd never make anything better than this

'Cause we're always in small circles
And everyone thinks we're trouble

We didn't read it in the big book
And now we're giving you the look look
Just remember how we shook shook
And all the things we took took

This town... This town...
This town's the oldest friend of mine
This town... This town... This town...

Location Ideas

At first we had decided to shoot our video at a lake but due to health and safety reasons we will not be shooting our video at a lake. We want to shoot most of our video in a studio so that it gives it that professional look. Also the studio will be simple yet effective with the song we have chosen, it will help amplify the music. Using a studio will allow us shoot the video with more ease as we can get the lighting right. For a small part of our video we want to use a different location, we were thinking of something like the countryside. The reason for having a different location is to add a different element to our video.

Audience profile

The Uk tribe that we are mostly targeting with our music video is indie scenesters. They are best suited because they enjoy music that different and out there, also they enjoy listening to music. The clothes that they wear are very similar too what our band members will be wearing which is  skinny jeans and vintage clothing. They love discovering new artists and bands which means that they will enjoy looking at our band and listening to the music that they make.

Genre of music video

The genre of music we are going for is indie/ alternative rock. We have chose this genre of music because we enjoy this type of music and think that we could make a good music video for this type of genre. The song that we are using for our music video is The Look by Metronomy.
